The Monster Under the Bed

Inspiration for today:
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” –Eleanor Roosevelt
The Monster Under the Bed
Remember when you were just a kid and, after going to bed, saw shadows on the wall and froze in fear, certain that there was a monster under your bed making its nightly visit? Somehow you would drum up the courage to move and turn on the light, and “Voila!”–no more shadows on the wall! You did what you thought you could not do, and faced your fear!
Now you’re an adult and the fears are different, more complex, and it’s hard to face them because fear of the unknown holds you in its grip. Perhaps you dread that unwanted phone call, that knock on the door, or even a major illness. Your mind conjures up all sorts of imaginary shadows on the wall. Where is the light that used to save you?
The light is still there, and you must be the one to once again drum up the courage to reach out and turn it on.
Don’t put off facing what you’re afraid of any longer! If you suffer from a health problem, get a diagnosis and begin a treatment plan. If creditors are calling, find a credit counselor that can help you manage your finances. If sales are down, adjust your marketing approach.
It takes faith on your part to show yourself that you have the power to face whatever may come. While you may not conquer every battle, you will gain the courage and strength to face each new monster that makes an appearance under the bed.
