Quiz Your Memory

Here’s a two-part quiz of sorts to test your memory. There’s no grade, but do your best! Part I:
Name the five wealthiest people in the world. Name the last five Heisman Trophy winners. Who were the last five winners of the Miss America pageant? List ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prizes. What teams are the last decade’s worth of World Series winners?
Could you do that without an internet search? No?
Now for Part II–see how you do on these:
List four teachers who aided your journey through school. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time. Who are five people who have taught you something worthwhile? Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special. Is there one person that is in at least three special memories?
Easier?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. Now, those folks who would be answers in Part I are not second-rate achievers–they are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Part II answers show that the people who make a difference in life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the highest awards. Those that make a difference are those that care, and the true A-listers of life. May you surround yourself with them, and may you be one.
