Embracing Bad Decisions

from bad judgment.” ~ Barry LePatner
Embracing Bad Decisions
This week’s quote is humorous because it’s true! When we make mistakes and learn from them, we usually develop good judgment.
Once we’ve realized we’ve made a poor decision, it must be engraved in our memories so we aren’t dooming ourselves to repeat history. We can’t necessarily study for problems that life throws at us, but even if we had a plan, we’d probably still wing it! We have to go through the experience before we learn the solution to the problem that our bad judgment created.
If we’re successful in our endeavor, congratulations are in order! If we fail (or succeed with some degree of error), congratulations are in order! We’ve created an opportunity for further improvement! Chances are that life is not going to throw anything at us that we can’t ultimately rise above on our own or with some assistance.
A light-hearted approach is best for problem-solving after a failed project, because discouragement can cause us to sabotage our personal and professional growth. Failure just makes us better–we simply have to remember: embracing our bad judgments results in gaining experience–and good judgment!
